On Monday, August 19, 2019, NJAIS hosted its annual program and dinner for athletic professionals at The Pingry School. This year's event featured Dr. Nate Zinsser, Director/Performance Psychology Program at West Point, who discussed "the coach as sports psychologist," as well as building a partnership with parents and overall resilience in athletes in order to cultivate a successful program and legacy. Dr. Zinsser, a regular consultant to the New York Giants and Philadephia Flyers, felt right at home at his alma mater and amongst the NJAIS members. Thanks to Carter Abbott for her dedication to this event!
The 2019 Instructional Skills Workshop Cohort wrapped up the four-day intensive experience on Thursday, August 15. This group joins the ranks of over 30 years of New Jersey independent school teachers who invest and engage deeply in the craft of teaching. Norman Lavalette, Pingry faculty for over four decades, and John Platt dazzled new and veteran teachers alike with a deep dive into tried and true instructional tools that enhance students' learning.
The 2019 Innovation Institute took place August 13 and 14 at The Pingry School, Short Hills Campus. A beautiful venue and a wonderful group of educators made it an incredible two days of learning, connecting, and evolving in practices. EdTech Rock Star, Kathy Schrock, kicked off the experience and offered incredible sessions throughout the institute. We gained inspiration from the amazing presenters from our schools, and hightlighted the innovative instruction happening all across our fabulous NJAIS schools. Be sure to block out these dates next year to partake in one of the most fun-filled and enriching professional growth experiences!
