Tuesday, August 17 - Thursday, August 19, 2021:
INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND SUPPORTING STUDENT METACOGNITION

For: New and Veteran Classroom Teachers

This three-day workshop for K-12 teachers will explore the current understanding of how children learn and investigate an array of teaching strategies and feedback techniques based on cognitive science research. Participants will explore principles of effective learning, including the role of student beliefs and mindsets in influencing that effectiveness. Using the powerful lens of cognitive science, the workshop will examine how these understandings and strategies are applied in different contexts, both in the classroom and online.
Teacher reflection and design time will be built into the workshop so you leave with curriculum design and lesson plans, and/or specific instructional and assessment strategies to be used in your own teaching practice.
