NJAIS Inclement Weather Guidelines*
NJAIS wants registrants to use their best judgment when traveling from various parts of the state for any NJAIS program.
In case of inclement weather either on a single-day NJAIS workshop, or on the first day of a multi-day NJAIS program:
1. Please check the NJAIS website for information.
2. Please check the website of the school where the workshop is scheduled. If the school has a delayed opening, then the workshop will most likely be delayed, too.
3. In some cases, the program will be held as planned, if the speaker(s) has been able to travel to the program location. If a registrant is uncomfortable with traveling and chooses not to attend the program, then it is the registrant's responsibility to identify a replacement. No refunds will be issued.
4. If a speaker(s) is unable to be present for the program, NJAIS will take the following steps to inform participants of the postponement and/or cancellation of the program:
a.) An announcement will be posted on the Home Page on the NJAIS website as late as 6:00 am the morning of the program.
b.) if NJAIS learns a day or more in advance of the program that the speaker is unable to present, staff at NJAIS will contact registrants immediately by email.
*The above guidelines do not apply to the NJAIS Biennial Conference or to the NJAIS Heads of Schools Conference.
