FULL MEMBERSHIPWe know New Jersey inside and out. Full Membership with NJAIS provides schools with specialized support and accreditation tailored specifically to independent (i.e., nonpublic, or private) schools in New Jersey, along with legislative advocacy, professional development, and a supportive community, making us the choice for schools seeking to safeguard their independent nonpublic status, enhance their educational standards, amplify their voice, and engage in deep professional growth.
NJAIS member schools educate approximately 32,000 students every year. The range of educational options is as wide and varied as anywhere in the world. Member schools vary in size from 50 students to over 1,100 students, and include single-sex schools, Montessori schools, Waldorf schools, faith-based schools (Catholic, Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Quaker), bilingual schools, day schools, boarding schools, startup schools, special education schools, early learning centers, and more.
New Jersey has one of the most robust private school environments in the US, with the NJ Department of Education reporting that 11% of the state’s total K-12 population is enrolled in a nonpublic option. The quality of our member schools is extraordinary, and they are well recognized--locally, nationally, and globally.
