The workshop will be presented by Todd Federman, Professor of Economics at Montclair State. Todd is a SMART Certified Trainer in Notebook 14, SMART Response, SMART Table and SMART Meeting Pro. In addition, he is an expert in creating effective PowerPoint presentations for the classroom.

The workshop is for teachers who are beginners (or novices) with SMART Boards and Notebook software. Material from all subject areas and all grade levels will be included. All participants will gain a greater understanding of SMART Board, Notebook software, and available online resources. Everyone will be better equipped to use SMART technology to increase student engagement and enhance learning. All participants will receive a certificate for 5 hours of PD training.

Topics will include SMART Board interactive basics: using interactive web sites; linking objects to websites; SMART Notebook 11.4 and 14 software (which are similar) will be discussed. Topics will include: SMART Ink; adding animation to objects; using the Gallery; modifying animations from the Lesson Activity Toolkit; importing & exporting material to and from a SMART Board; adding Video and Audio to lessons; using SMART Board tools; where to find help online with a focus on the SMART Exchange. There will be hands-on activities.

The workshop is limited to 20 people. Participants are required to bring a laptop with Notebook 11 or 14 software preloaded. If you have questions about installing Notebook, contact Todd at toddfederman1@gmail.com .
