This two-day comprehensive experience will provide reflection and action to take our best practices in pedagogy/instruction and turn them into today’s practices that promote authentic learning experiences for all students. Featuring keynote presenters Monica Burns and Reshan Richards, along with facilitated considerations of what to keep, what to change, and what to flip from this past year, participants will engage and appreciate the nimble instruction inspired by innovative practices.

Dr. Monica Burns is a Curriculum and EdTech Consultant, Apple Distinguished Educator and Founder of ClassTechTips.com. Monica was part of her school’s leadership team and was a vocal advocate for bringing one-to-one technology into her classroom. As a classroom teacher, Monica used iPads to create an engaging, differentiated learning experience to meet the unique needs of her students. Realizing the power of digital tools in the classroom, Monica started ClassTechTips.com to provide a resource for educators. Since starting ClassTechTips.com, Monica has presented to teachers, administrators and tech-enthusiasts at numerous national and international conferences including SXSWedu, ISTE, FETC and EduTECH. She is a webinar host for SimpleK12 and a regular contributor to Edutopia. Monica is the author of Tasks Before Apps: Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom (ASCD), #FormativeTech: Meaningful, Sustainable, and Scalable Formative Assessment with Technology (Corwin), Deeper Learning with QR Codes and Augmented Reality (Corwin), and co-author of 40 Ways to Inject Creativity into Your Classroom with Adobe Spark. In addition to being named an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2013, Monica is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Hunter College, and completed a Doctorate in Global Education Leadership at Lamar University in 2016.


Dr. Reshan Richards is the CEO & Co-Founder of Explain Everything, a company that makes whiteboard software for schools, students, and teachers. He teaches at Teachers College, Columbia University and the Columbia University School of Professional Studies and serves on the boards of Montclair Kimberley Academy, The Town School, and Global Online Academy. His time in independent schools include as a Middle School Math Teacher and Technology Coordinator at The Town School, Director of Education Technology at Montclair Kimberley Academy, and Director of Studies at New Canaan Country School. His writing includes Blending Leadership published by Wiley-Jossey-Bass in 2016 and Make Yourself Clear published by Wiley in 2019. He has an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College, Columbia University, an Ed.M in Learning and Teaching from Harvard University, and a B.A. in Music from Columbia University.

Cancellation Policy:

Registration fees will only be refunded if NJAIS is notified of your cancellation two weeksprior to the program. You may transfer your registration to a colleague in your school at no cost.
