Advisory Group Workshop
St. Benedict's Preparatory School
520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Wednesday, December 11, 2019
9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
In an independent school community, advisory groups can be one of the most rewarding experiences for students and families, while being an advisor can be one of the hardest experiences of our career! Schools rely on the advisor/advisee relationship to provide the social and emotional care of students, demonstrate the small teacher to student ratio, and offer a safe place to talk about concerns of the day. This full-day experience includes a workshop that provides participants with new skills for challenging conversations, a plan for creating norms, and an advisory lesson draft. It will also showcase current NJAIS exemplary advisory programs.
