Upper School Humanities Position, 2018-2019
The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, located in Edison, New Jersey, seeks an experienced, dynamic, and resourceful Humanities teacher for our Upper School Division.
We are looking for a collegial, engaging teacher who finds fascination in teaching 9th graders and AP level students. The position includes sections of ninth grade Global Humanities and elective courses with the possibility of an Advanced Placement course based on experience and need. We seek a teacher who is adept at using literature to explore history and using history to illuminate literature, and using both to teach sophisticated thinking and writing skills. In addition, the selected candidate will serve as an advisor to a small group of students and participate fully in the life of the Wardlaw+Hartridge School, including effectively collaborating with colleagues, engaging in a continual cycle of professional development, actively joining meetings, committees, service learning, and other community gatherings, and working to uphold the mission and vision of the school.
Master’s degree preferred with minimum of three years teaching experience.
