INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY TEACHER/TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR (Part-Time)
The Instructional Technology Teacher/Coordinator reports to the Director of Finance and Director of Education and is responsible for all issues relating to technology at the school. These include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following areas:
- Provides support to the classroom teacher through collaboration, coaching, or modeling for the effective integration of technology tools and resources to support instruction in the classroom.
- Promotes the use of technology in the core curriculum program.
- Coordinates the development of a technology-related curriculum.
- Coordinates school-community technology projects.
- Selects and develops technology-enhanced materials and resources related to the educational program.
- Stays informed of new computer education materials and equipment.
- Examines and recommends technology materials to appropriate school personnel.
- Provides leadership in developing and promoting technology educational objectives.
- Participates in the development and implementation of technology professional development, including workshops for students and staff.
- Participates in staff development of self and others.
- Communicates with parents and the community the goals of technology in the school.
- Reviews annually existing district license software for utility and cost-effectiveness.
- Develops, coordinates, and teaches workshops and classes on instructional and administrative applications for computers, software, smart boards and network systems.
- Provides technical curriculum assistance regarding hardware usage, software applications, computer technology, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom.
- Assists in the integration of technology applications across the K-8 curriculum.
- Develops, updates, and maintains the school's inventory of hardware and software.
- Trouble-shoots problems relating to hardware and software.
- Establishes systems for educators to access, preview, or receive training in hardware usage and software applications.
- Communicates information about training services and research, including preparing memos and making presentations, accompanied by handouts and/or training manuals.
- Models staying current with technological knowledge and skills.
- Maintains the electronic student records system and assisting faculty with training for report card program. Providing tech support for administration proofing report card system.
- Serves as network administrator and support infrastructure (ex. fiber optics, T- I line, classroom connections.) including hardware (network server, classroom, computer lab, administrative, & laptop computers), Intranet, INTERNET connection,
and web site, and software (virus control, software coordinator, software support, etc.).
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Supports the school and its leadership.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelors degree.
- Collegiate Professional Certificate minimum (teaching license)
- A minimum of one year of successful teaching experience and experience in technology-related positions.

ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR
Ranney School, an independent, nonsectarian, college preparatory day school (Beginners-12) located in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Academic Technology Coordinator to join the Upper School administrative team for Fall of 2008.
The Academic Technology Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership among the faculty through support of the mission, philosophy, and administration of the school.
- Teach four sections.
- Participate in the evaluation and supervision of department faculty, including formal observations, monitoring and addressing concerns related to department faculty, and making recommendations for rehire.
- Support the Director of Studies and the Lower, Middle, and Upper School administrations to plan and implement the curriculum, including oversight of curriculum mapping, scope and sequence, student assessment, and matching academic demands to meet the needs of students.
- Responsible for initiating curricular enhancement, new course proposals, and review of departmental prerequisites.
- Work with other department heads to develop interdisciplinary links, courses, and other interdepartmental projects.
- Keep current in the discipline: e.g. subscribe to appropriate journals, hold membership in national and/or local organizations, and attend conferences. The Department Head should be a clearing-house for useful professional information for the rest of the department, and should serve as a model of professional development.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of instructional technology into academic department curriculum. This includes researching department-specific learning technologies, promoting the use of the DLC, coordinating/leading department technology training, and ensuring that instructional technology is integrated into department classrooms.
- Serve as a liaison between parents and the school regarding department-specific issues.
- Conduct monthly department meetings; each meeting should include a published agenda and minutes should be distributed to the Director of Studies.
- Coordinating mid-year and final exam process, including monitoring the quality of department exams, organizing exam room assignments, coordinating extended time exams, and guiding new facility as they design their exams.
- Meet with each individual member of the department at the beginning and end of each year to set and review annual goals. Each teacher should have goals related to: pedagogy, professional development, instructional technology, and co-curricular involvement.
- Support the professional growth of teachers within the department, ensuring that each department member develops an individualized professional development plan.
- Serve as a guide and resource for new teachers in the department, ensuring they understand department standards and expectations.
- Formulate and supervise the department budget.
- Oversee and support the co-curricular activities that relate to the individual discipline. Ensure that results are appropriately publicized.
- Review Intranet Homework pages on a weekly basis to ensure their quality and consistency.
- Attend and participate in Department Head's Meetings.
- Serve on the Academic Council.
- Participate in the interview process for prospective teachers.
- Oversee student placement process for department courses.
- Consult on admissions issues for new students.
- Serve as school and department representative at special events and meetings.
- Participate in teaching assignment decisions.
- The Academic Technology Coordinator will be to investigate, learn, and gain expertise in the new distance learning equipment capabilities of the DLC and to lead the investigation of available applications (e.g. courses, lectures, etc.) with other faculty that would be appropriate to offer at Ranney. Once applications have been identified, the Academic Technology Coordinator will also be responsible for training faculty, as needed, on the configuration of the DLC equipment and the application for use as part of a class or other activity.
- Assist in the progress report review process, as needed by Division Heads.

MIDDLE/UPPER SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR
The Technology Integrator will work closely with faculty in the middle and upper schools to integrate technology into their teaching in order to enhance student learning. In addition, the person will be expected to teach one or two computer courses. Candidates should have extensive background in many different types of technology as well as teaching experience. In addition, successful candidates will have exceptional personal skills, patience, creativity and a sincere desire to learn and help others to do the same.

CLIENT SYSTEMS SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Saddle River Day School, a K-12 independent school, is seeking a Client Systems Support Specialist to provide timely, considerate computer support to faculty, staff and students in their use of digital resources. She or he will configure, update and maintain school-owned computers, printers, peripherals and classroom audio-visual technologies. This person must communicate effectively and work cooperatively with diverse groups, especially young children and their parents as well as administration, faculty and staff.
This position will report to the Director of Technology.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in Windows XP, Linux and Mac OS X. Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot computer networks involving client computers, servers and printers. Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with audio-visual systems. Experience in supporting a large installed base (>100) of computers, including both desktop and portable systems. Ability to support faculty for integrating technology into the classroom. Commitment to excellence in teaching and the education of children.

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Far Brook School, a small independent school located in Short Hills, is looking to hire an Assistant Librarian. This is a permanent position and could either be a part time or full time, but Mondays 8-4 required. The Assistant Librarian collaborates with the School Librarian and Technology Coordinator in support of educational media services and campus database systems. A Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years experience in technical support or library support is required. A Master's degree in Library Science is preferred.
Candidate must possess a minimum of 1-2 years of database management experience, specifically with cataloging media using MARC records. Experience in using standard office equipment and Intel computers is required. Experience with education technology and media in an elementary school environment is advantageous.
